About Air Purifier Readout
Air Purifier Readout helps you buy an air purifier that fits your room and your problem, without wading through spec sheets. We are a small independent site, edited by Maren Ostrowski.
What we do
We don’t run a test lab, and we won’t pretend to. We build each list from people who do: Consumer Reports, Wirecutter, RTINGS and HouseFresh. Then we add what they often leave out, such as the room size each purifier really covers by AHAM’s math, the yearly cost of genuine filters at current prices, and whether the model on Amazon is the one that was tested.
How a purifier makes our lists
- At least two independent sources, or hard numbers such as an AHAM-verified CADR, for the top 10.
- Topic and brand pages can include untested models, clearly labeled “Not yet independently tested”.
- No ozone generators, ever. Ionizer models must let you switch the ionizer off.
- Prices and product details come only from Amazon listings we collected; we don’t invent specs.
