Maren Ostrowski
Maren Ostrowski is the editor of Air Purifier Readout. She moved to Boise in 2019, met her first wildfire-smoke summer, and has been reading CADR certificates ever since. Her son has dust-mite allergies and her husky sheds all year, so the allergy, pet and smoke pages are personal.
How she works
Maren reads the published tests from Consumer Reports, Wirecutter, RTINGS and HouseFresh, checks each model’s AHAM data, prices the genuine filters, and writes the recommendation in plain English. When a listing doesn’t match the model a reviewer tested, she says so on the card.
What she won’t claim
- That she lab-tested purifiers. She doesn’t; the sources on each card did.
- Medical benefits. Ask your doctor about allergies and asthma.
- Specs that aren’t on the listing or in a named source.
